CUWS in FP
I followed the activities of six operators from the Cambridge University Wireless Society operating as FP/homecalls from Saint Pierre et Miquelon at the end of September. I was lucky enough to work them on 15m, 17m, 20m and 40m during their activity when they were great signals into the UK.
Mark M0MJH recorded a video which included my QSO with Rob FP/M0VFC on 17m :
I also recorded an audio file of Rob FP/M0VFC on 17m last night just after I’d spoken to him :
Dom FP/M0BLF, Martin FP/G3ZAY, Simon FP/G4EAG, Tom FP/M0TOC, Rob FP/M0VFC and Gavin FP/M1BXF were all active, making over 17,500 contacts during their stay and also regularly posting news and videos via their Facebook and Twitter feeds direct from the island.
I managed to speak to all of them except FP/M1BXF, so I just missed my own target of ‘worked all operators’. I did however win the competition the team set, giving them the correct answer during one of our contacts. I collected the competition prize of a kit radio from Signal Hill, Newfoundland at the Camb-Hams Pye & Pint evening this week.
I’m looking forward to hearing more about the DXpedition during the RSGB Convention this weekend.
